The City of Paducah invites residents of all ages to join the fun at Park Night Out this Friday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Albert Jones Park located at 855 Joe Bryan Drive. This event is organized by the Paducah Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with Early Learning Nation Collective and the McCracken County Public Library.
The event promises an evening filled with family-friendly crafts, sports, games, and snacks, all designed to bring the community together in celebration of the Paducah’s vibrant parks. There is no charge to attend, and residents can come at any time during the event.
Mayor George Bray said, “Park Night Out is a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to connect, enjoy our beautiful green spaces, and experience the sense of community that makes Paducah special. We look forward to seeing families and friends together at Albert Jones Park. This is one of the first times that an event has been held at this lovely park, which is just off South 21st Street or the Beltline and tucked into an established neighborhood near both Brooks Stadium and Morgan Elementary. Although not officially in a Southside neighborhood, it’s an important park the City intends to further develop. Please make plans to join us.”
“Our parks are the heart of our community, and events like Park Night Out showcase the importance of these spaces,” said Director of Parks and Recreation Amie Clark. “We encourage everyone to come out, enjoy the activities, and enjoy a park that you may not have visited previously.”
Earlier this year, the Parks and Recreation Department held Park Night Out events at Robert Coleman Park, Kolb Park, and Pat & Jim Brockenborough Rotary Health Park.
Albert Jones Park is located on the former Henry Clay Elementary School Site. The park is bordered by Joe Bryan Drive, Guthrie Avenue, B Street, and South 21st Street. The park includes an asphalt walking path, benches, an open green space, and shade trees. To honor Albert Jones, who served as Paducah’s mayor from 1996 until 2000, the Paducah Board of Commissioners approved renaming Henry Clay Park as Albert Jones Park in 2012.
