Telecommunications for Deaf or Hearing-Impaired

Dial 7-1-1 or 1-800-648-6056

Through the Kentucky Relay, a person who is deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind, or speech-disabled uses a TTY (text-telephone) to type his/her conversation to a relay operator, who then reads the typed conversation to a hearing person. The relay operator relays the hearing person's spoken words by typing them back to the TTY user. This is a free service. Kentucky Relay provides full telephone accessibility to people who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, deaf-blind, and speech-disabled. Calls can be made to anywhere in the world, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with no restrictions on the number, length, or type of calls. All calls are confidential and no records of any conversations are maintained. Anyone who wishes to use Kentucky Relay simply dials the toll free relay number to connect with a relay operator. The relay operator will dial the requested number and relay the conversation between the two callers.
